Starting school is a very important and exciting part of every child’s life. Newcastle schools have very high standards with dedicated staff committed to helping your child to achieve to the best of their ability.

We want to work with parents and carers to help your child take the first steps into education and ensure that starting school is a positive and rewarding experience for your child.  Our aim is to help your child achieve their full potential in a safe and caring environment.

Please think carefully about the school you would like your child to attend. Read the information online before you make your decision.  Make time to talk to your child about starting school and take the opportunity to visit our schools and speak to the staff. 

Think about how you will travel to school.  We would encourage you to walk to school with your child or travel on public transport.

You can apply for a school place online. We will be pleased to help you with any questions you may have regarding your application. Please ensure you apply before the closing date of midnight on 15 January 2011.
